Mission & Goals
Mission Statement
Baylor University Facilities Management will collaborate with university stakeholders to preserve and enhance both the built and natural infrastructure. We will sustain and create an environment that attracts and supports top tier students, faculty, and staff by reinforcing Baylor’s position as a world-class Christian institution.
Goals for 2026
- Strengthen oversight and accountability of contracted facility, custodial, and grounds maintenance partners to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery, and proactively address performance gaps
-- Build stronger relationships with Baylor stakeholders for all facility services through transparent communication and responsive service coordination
- Lead the technical and engineering team through the predevelopment phase of the Baylor Energy Complex project with the selected development partner aimed at completing the Technical Proposal, while supporting the Financial and Administrative Proposals development
- Provide high quality leadership and management for Baylor’s campus planning, design, and construction, built on a foundation of integrity, consistency, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration
-- Partner with campus stakeholders to effectively plan and manage physical spaces and assets by finding solutions which align to Institutional objectives to increase space utilization while removing aging facilities past their useful life
-- Further develop BUFM Design and Construction Standards in collaboration with campus stakeholders so that planning and execution of capital projects results in consistent and high-quality spaces
- Continue integration of sustainability initiatives within Facilities Management projects and services to support Baylor’s Sustainability Goals for Operational Sustainability and Campus Culture by prioritizing recycling programs and “Campus as a Living Lab” related initiatives
- Convene faculty, staff, students, and community partners through the Sustainability Leadership Committee to develop strategies that fulfill Baylor’s Vision and Goals for Sustainability and deliver Baylor’s first Sustainability Action Plan for consideration by President’s Council in summer 2026
