Baylor's Facility Services department supports the mission of Baylor University by providing coordination and facility management and services to all university buildings and grounds. The staff oversees all facility contract providers for the University.

Chad Crocker
Assistant Vice President for Facility Services
Chad Crocker joined the Baylor University family on August 1st, 2022. He has over 29 years of facilities experience; with over 25 of those years spent supporting higher education. He most recently served as the Senior Director of Facilities Maintenance for the University of North Texas. Prior to that he served in facilities leadership roles for Texas Wesleyan University, Texas Woman’s University, Eastern Michigan University, Lone Star College, and Tarrant County College.
Chad has a Master of Business Administration in Administrative Management from the University of North Texas, Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Park University in Parkville, MO, Associate’s in Liberal Arts from the University of North Dakota Lake Region, ND, and an Associate in Applied Science in Mechanical Electrical Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He is the Vice President for the Texas Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA).

Dennis Ferguson
Electrical Engineering Systems Manager
Dennis recently joined Baylor University in 2022 and has over 45 years of facilities operations and maintenance experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with Tarleton State University and a
Associate degree in applied science in the field of Electrical Power Generation and Distribution. Dennis’s experiences and background years compose of 35 years on the Baylor University campus and 10 years in K-12 school district facilities. He also holds the professional tile of Certified Educational Facilities Professional from the Association of Physical Plant Administrators.

Jeff Floyd
Grounds Maintenance & Horticulture Manager
Jeff is a Native Texan and former U.S. Marine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Texas, Permian Basin and a Masters in Soil and Crop Sciences from Texas Tech University. He has worked in the landscape industry since 1992 and educated employees and the general public on landscape and horticulture topics. Jeff supervised the maintenance of athletic fields for two Universities, worked as a city parks superintendent and managed a grounds crew for a community college in West Texas. He also served as a County agent with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service for Horticulture in Midland, Ector and Nueces counties where he recruited, trained and supervised more than two-hundred volunteer educators. As a horticulture agent, Jeff produced education programs for professional pesticide applicators and arborists certified through the International Society of Arboriculture. He has written nearly eight-hundred science-based horticulture articles for newspapers, magazines, and newsletters and contributed to a chapter on perennial plants in the Texas Master Gardener handbook.

Chris Humphries
Campus Facilities Operations Manager
Chris joined Baylor as a Facilities Operations Manager in September of 2023. Prior to joining Baylor University, Chris worked in the mechanical contracting industry as a Project Manager and Owner-Direct Representative. His previous experience includes higher education maintenance, electrical commodity warehousing/distribution, agricultural research, and commercial/precision agricultural machinery sales and service. Chris is a native Texan, has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems Management from Texas A&M University, and is a Certified Crop Advisor via the American Society of Agronomy. He enjoys all things outdoors, traveling, gardening, cooking, and mountain biking with his wife Sydnee.

John Hynes
Campus Facilities Operations Manager
In August 2022, John Hynes joined the Baylor Facilities Team. He has over 25 years of operations and facility experience. John had mostly recently worked at a local Waco plant as the site manager for ISS Facility Services. His background also includes operations experience as a plant manager and quality manager.

Chip Maurer
Director of Mechanical Engineering Systems
Chip Maurer joined Baylor University in September 2022. He has over 26 years of facilities design, operation, and management experience. Most recently, Chip spent 20 years working for Honda, including serving as Manager / Principal Engineer for the facilities department within Honda’s automotive research and development operations located in Ohio and covering multiple sites across North America. Prior to Honda, Chip worked for Jacobs Engineering / Sverdrup Technology designing, providing construction support, and commissioning several complex automotive testing facilities. Chip is a licensed professional engineer, having earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Grove City College.

Josh Reil
Building Automation Systems Manager
Josh joined Baylor as the Building Automation Systems (BAS) Manager in March of 2024. Josh has five years of experience in the mechanical and BAS industries designing and managing controls systems. He is a Baylor grad and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, photography, traveling, making coffee, and spending time with his family.

Kevin Vranich
Campus Facilities Operations Manager
Kevin joined Baylor as a Facilities Operations Manager in December 2023. Kevin brings over 28 years of life safety experience from the fire service as a Firefighter and Fire Marshal. His previous experience includes community risk reduction, code enforcement, plan review, and investigations. Kevin holds certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Fire Marshal and advanced certifications in inspections and plans examination.

Custodial & Refuse Manager
Andrew joined Baylor University in August 2022. Prior to joining Baylor University, he spent 13 years with The University of Texas at Austin as the Custodial Services Manager within the Facilities Services department. Andrew has a Master of Business Administration degree from Baylor University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Park University.
