Jeff Floyd
Grounds Maintenance & Horticulture Manager
Jeff is a Native Texan and former U.S. Marine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Texas, Permian Basin and a Masters in Soil and Crop Sciences from Texas Tech University. He has worked in the landscape industry since 1992 and educated employees and the general public on landscape and horticulture topics. Jeff supervised the maintenance of athletic fields for two Universities, worked as a city parks superintendent and managed a grounds crew for a community college in West Texas. He also served as a County agent with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension service for Horticulture in Midland, Ector and Nueces counties where he recruited, trained and supervised more than two-hundred volunteer educators. As a horticulture agent, Jeff produced education programs for professional pesticide applicators and arborists certified through the International Society of Arboriculture. He has written nearly eight-hundred science-based horticulture articles for newspapers, magazines, and newsletters and contributed to a chapter on perennial plants in the Texas Master Gardener handbook.
